It is the "ratafia aranesa". It is a digestive liqueur made from tenders nuts and other plants that incorporates the genciana root which gives its characteristic bouquet, a bit bitter.
It gathers the tradition of homemade liqueurs in the Vall d'Aran, where it is made in houses from an old age, macerating nuts and plants in brandy.
It is recommended to drink it after eating, cold from the refrigerator or freezer. It can be used in some dishes or desserts . It is highly recommended to mix with coffee.
